指導テーマ

Being able to meaningfully communicate is an important goal of foreign language education. Some mastery of the target language is required but perfection is not necessary. In classes that I teach my goal is to provide a setting where students can get experience in using the language.

学生へのメッセージ

As a medical professional you are essential to the good health of not only people but Japan as a country. Japan, like many places in the world, is becoming more multi-cultural. Ibaraki Prefecture is at the forefront of that transition. I hope that IPUHS students can become leaders in this change through appreciating both the qualities that make all humans the same, such as empathy, and the strength that comes from a society supported by the many different perspectives that multiculturalism brings. 

Often when people must get medical treatment, they are worried. This is especially true if their first language is not Japanese. I hope that our students can achieve basic communication skills in English or another language, helping them to make their foreign patients` treatments less stressful.
